Download & Install the Microsoft Remote Desktop Application

Microsoft Remote Desktop clients let you use and control a remote PC. With a Remote Desktop client, you can do all the things with a remote PC that you can do with a physical PC, such as:

- Use apps installed on the remote PC.
- Access files and network resources on the remote PC.
- Leave the apps open when you turn off the client.

Note: This is application is NOT the Remote Desktop Connection (MSTSC) client that ships with Windows. It's a new Remote Desktop (MSRDC) client which must be used.

You can also use a Remote Desktop client to access your remote PC from almost any device. Here's a list of the latest versions of the client apps and where you can download them:

  3. Once you've installed the client, you can launch it from the Start menu (or Dock) by searching for Remote Desktop.

Subscribe to a Workspace

There are two ways you can subscribe to a Workspace. The client can try to discover the resources available to you from your account or you can explicitly specify the URL where your resources are for cases where the client is unable to find them.

Please note you will be required to provide your credentials multiple times. Enter your complete fully qualified username including the @yourdomainname.com as supplied in your welcome email for all logins except when logging into the Veolity application itself.
1) Subscribe with a user account
  1. From the main page of the client, tap Subscribe.
  2. When prompted, sign in with your user account credentials as supplied in your welcome email.
  3. The resources will appear in the Connection Center grouped by Workspace.
2) OR Subscribe with URL
  1. From the main page of the client, tap Subscribe with URL.
  2. Enter the Workspace URL: https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery
Please note that the Next button will not become clickable until you have entered the URL correctly and that Network Administrator is NOT blocking connections to Azure Remote Application Services.
  3. Tap Next.
  4. When prompted, sign in with your user account credentials as supplied in your welcome email.
  5. The resources will appear in the Connection Center grouped by Workspace.

Veolity Client Application

Launching the Veolity Client Application

Once you've subscribed to the Workspace, you can launch resources with one of the following methods:

  • Go to the Connection Center and double-click a resource to launch it. OR;
  • You can choose to close the Remote Desktop Application and search the Start menu or dock for a folder with the name VeolityVDWorkspace or search for Veolity (VeolityVDWorkspace) in the search bar. The Veolity application should appear the same as any other application installed on your workstation, complete with the Veolity Logo.
Please note that on the first launch of the application you will be asked for your password again. Please enter the password as provided in your welcome email and we suggest if you are NOT using a public PC, choosing the option to; 'Remember Password' so you are not asked for it in the future.
Logging into the Veolity Client Application
  1. Please enter your Veolity Username and Password as provided in your welcome email.
Please note that the Veolity username and password may be different to credentials used in the above steps. The username DOES NOT include @yourdomainname.com. Furthermore, the username and passwords are case sensitive.
Logging Off & Exiting the Veolity Client Application
  1. Close the application by closing the main application window and you will be prompted to "Log Off".
  2. You will be returned to the application Login screen. Click the EXIT button.
  3. The application will however continue to run in the System Tray. To exit/quit the application entirely, locate the Veolity Application icon in your system tray, and from the context menu (Right-click) select Quit.
